Wedding Colors & Style Inspo (what couples are loving right now)

In the past few years, we’ve noticed a shift in the way couples are designing their wedding. They are moving away from what’s “expected” or “traditional”, and gravitating more towards colors and aesthetics that feel more them.

If you are planning your wedding and looking for inspiration, you’ve come to the right blog! Let’s dive into recently color, style, and aesthetic wedding trends 💍✨

Wedding Color & Style Trends

Moody Jewel Tones

This color palette is taking the word moody and running with it! We’re talking emerald, burgundy, sapphire, deep plum – all the rich and gorgeous colors you could imagine. They add depth, drama, and elegance, especially for fall and winter weddings. Couples will often pair these colors with soft neutrals or metallic accents to keep it balanced, elevated, and timeless!

Warm Earthy Tones

Think terracotta, clay, rust, olive, and sand – colors that feel grounded, romantic, and a little vintage. They give a unique desert or garden-type vibe to the function. Plus, these colors photograph beautifully in a natural light, and perfect for outdoor summer weddings!

Unexpected Color Pairings

This is where couples who have a little bit of spunk really thrive! Some color combos that some people might not think about include:

  • Olive + Champagne
  • Navy + Rust
  • Terracotta + Blush
  • Plum + Peach

All these pairing feel fresh and bold at the same time – while still feeling sophisticated, they allow for playful pops of color throughout florals, linens, and stationery.

Soft Neutrals with Depth

This is for more of a minimalist vibe – taking white, ivory, and beige, and just adding a little “umph”! Instead of a flat neutral, couples are layering creams and ivories, warm taupes, and subtle textures to create a look that feels right and intentional.

Theme & Aesthetic Trends

Modern Minimalism (with Warmth)

Minimalist weddings, I think, will always be trendy – but they are feeling softer and more inviting than before. This aesthetic really ties into the “Soft Neutral with Depth” look – Clean linens, neutral palettes, and intentional decor are often paired with warm lighting, natural textures, and organic florals, creating a space that feels homey and warm!

Elevated Boho

Boho weddings had their moment – think back to 2016-2018 – but today’s boho wedding feels more mature. They are leaning for luxe, with details like dried and fresh floral mixed together, neutral color palettes with subtle pops, or layered textiles and statement installations! It feels more relaxed, romantic, cozy, and effortless.

Vintage Meets Modern

One of the most popular aesthetic (and my personal favorite!) is one that blends the old with the new. We see a lot of couples mixing modern table settings with vintage furniture, antique accents, or heirloom-inspired details. Incorporating modern with vintage gives it a timeless, personal feel, with lots of character.

Maximalism & Statement Moments

We’ve covered a lot of minimalist aesthetics, so let’s dive into the complete opposite! Some couples are going bold with their wedding design – they are embracing color, oversized florals, patterned linens, and dramatic focal points. Instead of the subtle decor everywhere, couples are creating a few big statement pieces.

It’s all about finding balance when designing your wedding – mixing bold with soft, modern with vintage, or trendy with timeless. The best designs are the ones that feel personal, cohesive, and true to the couple celebrating!
